Roles and responsibilities of the professional. Office procedures and interviewing techniques. The eight basic questions that every interview should include. The hypnotic alliance. Theory of mind. SUGGESTIBILITY TESTING INCLUDING SUPERVISED PRACTICE Discussion, explanation, and demonstration of physical suggestibility tests. Dynamics of the first session. Determining hypnotic personality types. Authoritarian verses permissive methods of testing. Factors that influence suggestibility. Class members will practice authoritarian and permissive suggestibility tests.
HYPNOTIC INDUCTION TECHNIQUES Speech techniques including "Voice Rolling." Physical movements and mannerisms. Psychodynamics of the induction. SUPERVISED PRACTICE BY CLASS MEMBERS Class members will practice permissive and authoritarian induction techniques and proper dehypnotization. Although scripts will be provided, creativity will be encouraged.
FURTHER TECHNIQUES OF HYPNOTIC INDUCTION Stages of hypnosis. Use of hypnotic devices (spiral, music, air machine, metronome, pendulum, flashing light), and basic contra-indications. SUPERVISED PRACTICE BY CLASS MEMBERS Practice will include further induction and deepening techniques, hypnotic challenges, rehypnotization and dehypnotization.
CLINICAL APPLICATION OF HYPNOSIS Basic laws of suggestion. Keys to effective suggestion. Specific techniques for Stress Management, Smoking Cessation, Weight Loss, General Self-Improvement, etc., Basic Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques.
SUPERVISED PRACTICE BY CLASS MEMBERS Practice will include basic Clinical Hypnotherapeutic techniques for Stress Management, Smoking Cessation, Weight Loss, General Self-Improvement, etc., basic NLP techniques.

"LIVE" VIDEO-TAPED CASE HISTORIES Throughout the seminar, excerpts of "Live," video-taped sessions will provide an accelerated learning environment.
